The Flemish artist Theodoor Rombouts is being celebrated in Ghent, Belgium, with a monograph exhibition held at the Museum voor Schone Kunsten Gent. Theodoor Rombouts: Virtuoso of Flemish Caravaggism builds on a research project undertaken by the museum and its curators in an 'extensive search for Rombouts' core oeuvre.' The exhibition promises to present a 'new total picture of the artist as a Flemish Caravaggist'. Drawing from museums and collections across the world, the MSK Gent will also feature Rombouts' largest canvas, By the Tooth Puller (c. 1628), which has been especially restored for this important retrospective.
The show will run from 21 January until 24 April 2023.
