'Newcomers. Flemish artists in Haarlem 1580-1630' at the Frans Hals Museum

The Frans Hals Musuem in Haarlem is set to open their latest exhibition on 30th September 2022. Newcomers. Flemish artists in Haarlem 1580-1630 will feature works by artists who had a profound effect on the city of Haarlem and its art. The show will include paintings by Frans Hals, Lieven de Key, Karel van Mander, Adriaen Brouwer, Pieter Claesz and Esaias van de Velde and many others, many of which have not been on display in the Netherlands for a considerable amount of time. The exhibition has been made possible due to important loans from museums and private collections.

Amongst the most significant paintings by Frans Hals sold at Sotheby's London is this portrait of Willem van Heythuysen which achieved £7.09m in July 2008.
