Art Impressionniste et Moderne – Day Sale

T he Impressionist and Modern Art Day sale presents a superb set of works by the artist Bernard Buffet, notably on the theme of bullfighting. Led by Max Ernst’s magnificent oil, Une école de harengs défile sous une lune brune, the sale also includes a number of outstanding Surrealists works, including works by Victor Brauner, Wifredo Lam and Francis Picabia. Another highlight is a superb canvas by Albert Marquet, Paysage à Hesnes with its bright, saturated colors. The School of Paris is represented with compositions by Maurice de Vlaminck as well as by Maurice Utrillo. Finally, there is a very beautiful section of works by Belgian artists, including compositions by Anto Carte and Félix Labisse.
