T his online sale is made up of Old Master paintings from various owners, dating from the 15th to the 19th centuries and representative of most major schools of painting in Western Europe. With prices ranging from £200 to £60,000, this is the perfect opportunity for both new and established buyers to discover the virtues of collecting Old Masters. Amongst the highlights in this auction is a late 14th century triptych reminiscent of the works of Agnolo Gaddi and reflecting Giotto’s lasting influence on Florentine painting.

The sale boasts a number of high-quality view paintings, including a unique view of Saint Petersburg deriving from a large-scale engraving by Ivan Yeliakov based on Mikhail Ivanovich Makhayev’s drawing of 1753; the iconic Piazza San Marco in Venice found in a panel attributed to Louis de Caullery, as well as two other Venetian views showing the Doge’s Palace in later copies after Canaletto; London’s impressive Northumberland House and Horse Guards Parade represented by 19th century copies after Canaletto; and dramatic views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius in a copper by Juan Ruiz as well as gouaches datable to the 19th century.
