Burning Man Project and Sotheby’s are collaborating to produce a charitable online auction that will offer up for sale an eclectic, genre-defying selection of artworks, collectibles, mutant vehicles, NFTs, and experiences from artists and creators within and adjacent to the Burning Man community.
Burning Man Brings Boundless Creativity to Sotheby’s New York
All are invited to explore the auction’s online catalogue, which will be released in early September, 2021; the auction will open for bidding in late September 2021 for eight days of online bidding. Some of the works on auction will be available for viewing at Sotheby’s in New York, with exciting virtual and in-person art activations taking place in early October, 2021.
The not-for-profit Burning Man Project produces the annual Burning Man event in Black Rock City, and serves as the network hub of the global Burning Man community, facilitating and extending the culture that has issued from the Burning Man event into the larger world. This culture is rooted in Burning Man’s Ten Principles.
Boundless Space… The Possibilities of Burning Man will provide crucial funds to help ensure Burning Man Project’s long-term survival, and directly support Burning Man Arts and Civic Engagement programs, which nurture an ecosystem of artists, makers and community leaders.
