On 12 September, professional and amateur drawing enthusiasts gathered for the New York Academy of Art’s annual Drawing Party, hosted by painter and academy graduate Will Cotton. An industrial space inside Highline Stages became the setting for a life-drawing session where artists such as Natalie Frank, Hilary Harkness, EV Day and Ryan McGinness took up their pencils and brushes and demonstrated their skills. Between sketches artists and guests, including Gina Gershon and Amanda Demme, enjoyed cocktails and whimsical props of giant inflatable candy and fruit. A number of the evening’s creations were donated to the academy's upcoming Take Home A Nude benefit auction held at Sotheby’s, which has worked closely with the school to plan the much-anticipated 11 October event.
