S otheby’s is privileged to present an exciting selection of early ceramics, imperial porcelains, works of art and paintings ranging from early dynastic periods to the 20th century.


Leading the auction is monochrome, which presents 35 lots of exceptional Chinese artworks characterised by their timeless aesthetic and exemplifying the most refined sensibilities. Leading the sale is a fine Ru-type hexagonal vase of the Qianlong period, from the personal collection of Robin Woodhead, former CEO and Chairman of Sotheby's. Other highlights include a well-published archaic bronze ritual wine vessel and cover from the early Western Zhou dynasty, and a rare and important Buddhist sandstone stele from the Eastern Wei dynasty.
