Leading the auction is monochrome, which presents 35 lots of exceptional Chinese artworks characterised by their timeless aesthetic and exemplifying the most refined sensibilities. Leading the sale is a fine Ru-type hexagonal vase of the Qianlong period, from the personal collection of Robin Woodhead, former CEO and Chairman of Sotheby's. Other highlights include a well-published archaic bronze ritual wine vessel and cover from the early Western Zhou dynasty, and a rare and important Buddhist sandstone stele from the Eastern Wei dynasty.
Our signature live auction Important Chinese Art will feature exceptional Chinese porcelains, early ceramics, jades, and other works of art from distinguished private collections. Amongst the highlights are an extremely rare celadon jade 'dragon' foliate cup of the Song dynasty and a white jade ‘bats and lingzhi’ brushwasher from the Qianlong period.
