F rom this 20-29 September, Sotheby’s presents Fine Japanese Works Art. The sale includes works from the Nambokucho period to now with a focus on the tradition of painting across various artistic mediums in Japan. Fine examples of folding screens, such as Pheasants under cherry trees and wisteria and a six-panel folding screen depicting a Tiger and Dragon, are offered alongside ceramics with finely painted motifs. The sale culminates with a group of Japanese modern and contemporary paintings and works of art, including Hiroshi Yoshida’s View of Mount Fuji, Senju Hiroshi’s Waterfall, and two exuberant paintings by Yuichi Hirako, Hamlet 2 and Green Castle.
