a six-panel folding screen: ink, colour, gold and gofun on paper, depicting pheasants and their young, finches on rockwork, a large cherry blossom tree and wisteria overhanging a cascading waterfall and distant mountains, silk brocade border, black lacquer mounts, engraved copper-gilt fittings


each panel approx. 182 x 63.5 cm., 71⅝ x 25 in.

Overall in good condition with some losses in places to the gofun as is typical, there are some areas of the gold ground touched in, some soiling to the pigments especially in the lower half of the screen, some areas of gold foil lifting and some small repaired tears, the paper backing fair condition with two small torn areas, the hinges are tight in places when opened and may need some restoration.
