Three of a Kind: Emeralds

By Sotheby's
Alongside Sotheby's Jewels Online: Spring Gem Edit , we take a look at three of the stunning emeralds in this beautiful collection, for three very different tastes and budgets.

1. Emerald and Diamond Ring. Estimate £2,600–3,600

Due to the included nature of emeralds, many are treated with oil to improve their clarity. This lovely oval emerald has no indications of treatment and sits between two D-E coloured baguette diamonds. It is the perfect piece for an understated elegant look.

2. Emerald and Diamond Ring. Estimate £10,000–12,000

Emeralds were discovered in Zambia around 50 years ago, and they have seen a rise in popularity due to their clarity and stunning colour. This 6.01 carat stone is both Zambian and untreated, adding to its value and desirability.

3. Emerald and Diamond Ring. Estimate £40,000–50,000

An impressive 13.77 carat emerald in a traditional step-cut which illustrates the attractive and evenly distributed vivid green colour of the stone. This deco-style ring is the perfect example of a statement emerald.
