Sotheby’s Doha office opened in 2008 followed by a record-breaking inaugural auction in 2009. In total, 5 bespoke auctions have been held in the country, spanning multiple categories including: international contemporary art, modern and contemporary Middle Eastern art, fine jewels and watches.

Over the past decade, Sotheby’s has continued to support Doha’s commitment to arts and culture, as seen in the impressive institutional developments of the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), Mathaf, Qatar National Library and most recently, the Jean Nouvel designed Qatar National Museum.

Sotheby’s has a longstanding role in engaging with local charitable events and remains committed to bespoke projects and educational initiatives.
