As Mickey Mouse turns 90, Sotheby’s celebrates the creativity that Walt Disney brought to the early days of Disney Studios. These rare and first edition books, part of The Library of an English Bibliophile Part VIII, include the first appearance of Mickey Mouse in a book and Donald Duck’s debut as a titular character. The popularity of modern animation can make it easy to forget Walt Disney’s own words: “it all started with a mouse”. (10 July, London)
