Geek Week

Sotheby’s Science & Natural History Department presents Geek Week 2025, the return of our annual marquee science series bringing together our three most exciting categories – Natural History, History of Science & Technology, and Space Exploration – for a week of sales unlike any other. And for the first time, Cryptocurrency will be accepted for every lot.

This year’s Natural History sale is headlined by a remarkable juvenile Ceratosaurus, one of only four known to exist, and the only juvenile to have ever been found. Additional highlights include the outstanding, virtually complete skull of the mysterious Pachycephalosaurus, the largest piece of Mars on Earth, being a massive 54 pound Martian meteorite, as well as an incredible selection of fine, gem-quality minerals, including specimens of Tourmaline, Aquamarine, and Gold.

Headlining our History of Science & Technology sale is the celebrated “Romkey” Apple-1, known to be the finest operational Apple-1 in existence. Joining this lot is an exciting selection of important scientific and technological artifacts, manuscripts, original artwork, and more from the 20th-21st centuries. Our popular Space Exploration sale will feature an array of mission flown artifacts, including a fine selection of flown items from the personal collection of Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin, lunar and planetary photography, early models, and much more. Explore three remarkable auctions of scientific milestones, digital breakthroughs, rare fossils, meteorites, minerals and more during Geek Week 2025.
