T his autumn Sotheby’s is pleased to present a series of online auctions dedicated to American Art and Photographs. Across these distinguished sales is a curated section of 19th and 20th century artworks picturing the American landscape. The artists represented in this collaboration include important painters and photographers such as Ansel Adams, Milton Avery, George Inness, Eastman Johnson, Annie Leibovitz, Carleton E. Watkins, Edward Weston and many more. From the East to West coast, and everywhere in between, each of the artists highlighted here have through their work captured the diverse topography and enduring spirit of the American landscape. This selection of works will be on view in our York Avenue galleries from 29 September to 5 October.
