O riginal Film Posters demonstrates over 100 years of cinematic history from across the globe. Featuring promotional materials including posters, lobby cards, production stills, and original artworks used to herald some of the world’s most iconic films, estimates range from £300 to £26,000.
Highlights include an important and extremely rare poster advertising the first cinematic appearance of Superman in 1941 (lot 37), a highly sought-after poster from the very first film in the Star Wars movie empire, signed by Carrie Fisher, Dave Prowse, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew (lot 43) and an untrimmed example of the ultimate British poster on The Empire Strikes Back (lot 47), and a magical poster from Walt Disney’s first feature animation Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (lot 62).
Highlights will be on view in our St George Street Gallery from 1-6 September. Bidding will take place exclusively online from 25 August-6 September.
