Title cards very rarely surface on this classic 1930s American musical.

This American musical was directed by Lloyd Bacon and choreographed by Busby Berkeley. The cast includes Warner Baxter, Bebe Daniels, George Brent, Ruby Keeler, Dick Powell and Ginger Rogers. The film is set during the Great Depression, and tells the story of a famous Broadway producer/director who is hired to put on a new musical. The musical is being financed by a gentleman who wants to provide a starring role for his girlfriend. Unfortunately for her, during the long and strenuous rehearsals, she breaks her ankle. This gives one of the chorus girls an opportunity to be the star of the show.
