Rocky was written by Sylvester Stallone, and directed by John G. Avildsen. Stallone also played the title role as Rocky Balboa. The cast also includes Talia Shire and Burt Young. The film won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Film Editing. Rocky II, which came out three years later, was written, directed and stars Sylvester Stallone. The cast also includes Carl Weathers, Tony Burton, Burgess Meredith, with Burt Young and Talia Shire reprising their original roles. A true hero goes all the way!
