A small 'Mughal' millefleurs silk carpet, probably Kashmir, 18th century

Piled in silk, not pashmina, on multi-stranded cotton warps with cotton wefts, this unusual rug appears to be a later interpretation of the fine pashmina piled millefleurs rugs of the region.
