I n celebration of Hong Kong Art Month, we present Sotheby’s first-ever all-encompassing sculpture exhibition, Corpus – Three Millennia of the Human Body from 15-27 March. Exploring enduring themes of beauty, love, life and death through the body as subject, Corpus presents 20th and 21st century masters – such as Antonio Canova, Auguste Rodin, Henry Moore, Alberto Giacometti, Salvator Dalí, Louise Bourgeois, Thomas Houseago, Berlinde De Bruyckere and Jes Fan, to name but a few – alongside the ancient vestiges of antiquity from which artists continually draw inspiration.
Coinciding with Art Basel Hong Kong for the first time since 2019, our Modern & Contemporary auctions features an exceptional line-up this season and will be available for public preview at our Maison from 20 March onwards before the auctions take place on 29-30 March. The selection of works includes masterpieces by celebrated artists such as Marc Chagall, Günther Förg, Antony Gormley, Yayoi Kusama, Henry Moore, Pablo Picasso, Nicolas Party, Auguste Rodin, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Wu Guangzhong, Zao Wou-Ki and Zeng Fanzhi, and more.
Meanwhile our highly anticipated Luxury Week kicks off online with the finest curation of handbags, watches, wine and spirits. Visit the Maison from 13-17 March for the public preview of Handbags and Accessories including Property of An Important Private Collector (10-18 March) and Important Watches II (12-19 March). Highly anticipated exceptional masterpieces from Hanbags and Accessories includes two global auction debuts: a Limited Edition Black Chèvre Chamkila Bouclerie Moderne Casaque Birkin 20 Sellier Palladium Hardware, 2024 and a Limited Edition Black Shiny Porosus Crocodile Midas Kelly 25 Sellier 18K Yellow Gold Hardware, 2023.
For the wine and spirit aficionado, the third chapter of Romanée-Conti: The Masterpiece Collection Part III is open for bidding until 19 March, bringing to auction one of the greatest private collections of DRC and Burgundy in the world, while Finest & Rarest Wines | Featuring An Exemplary European Cellar (open for bidding until 20 March) includes more than 500 wines – with something sure to please all wine lovers. The first spirits auction in Hong Kong in 2025 is also our largest ever yet. Distilled | Whisky + Moutai (open for bidding until 21 March) with 942 lots and more than 2000 bottles from over 50 different top distilleries and producers coming under the hammer.

A s the flagship of Sotheby’s in Asia, this two-storey, 24,000 square foot multifaceted space designed by Rotterdam-based architecture studio MVRDV presents a groundbreaking dual concept: the ground floor houses a dramatic state-of-the-art space designed for immersive experiences and moments of profound contemplation, where museum-grade exhibitions and performances will be staged, alongside Sotheby’s signature auction exhibitions spread throughout the year. The first floor features our concept store, a uniquely curated retail experience exploring an array of cross-category art, luxury and collectibles spanning 80 million years of history and offered for instant purchase.

T he Another World playlist surfs between a whole range of emotions - from contemplation to anxiety, anger to sensuality, joy to otherworldliness. High notes include David Lynch, trip-hop, minimalism, Gainsbourg/Birkin, soul and hip-hop, with undertones of German industrial, alternative and New Wave. The contrast of styles matches the sprawling array of material that we are presenting at the Maison, from fine Old Master drawings to horror movie posters, contemporary design to rare books, dinosaur fossils to gothic sculpture, African contemporary design to Japanese armours.
