W e proudly present our new Asia flagship – Sotheby's Maison. Located at the beating heart of Hong Kong, the Maison offers a portal to a world of boundless inspiration and discovery – a journey from pre-history to present day, across more than 20 categories spanning all continents and artistic endeavours.

From 25 – 28 October, Chinese Works of Art presents the single-owner collections of Sakamoto Gorō and Mineo Hata. Additionally, The Jiansongge Collection makes its return this season following its earlier iteration in 2008 with a curated selection of artworks that echo the many aspects of Chan aesthetics, charter the lives and passions of Chinese scholars and breathe the thought systems that inspired these scholars. The star lot is an exceptional chanyi or meditation chair carved out of huanghuali, of generous proportions, designed for contemplation, study and self-cultivation, a legacy of the cultural refinement and intellectual pursuits of the literati. All three collections will go under the hammer in live auctions at Sotheby’s Maison on 29 October.
