The figure group on the right-hand side of the painting depicting Diana and Callisto, which is comprised of Callisto being undressed by three of Diana's nymphs to reveal her pregnancy, also appears in a small panel previously with Charles Sedelmeyer, Paris.¹ The panel was sold in 1907 with an attribution to the Italian School, 16^th century.² The same group likewise features in a picture attributed to Henri-Antoine de Favanne (1668–1752) that sold at Christie's London in 1991.³ It is likely that a print was the common source for this motif, given that it features in such an array of pictures produced by different schools during various periods.
