Designed as eight hexagonal gemstone plaques including quartz, goldstone and onyx, each set with polychrome tesserae depicting floral compositions, length approximately 180mm.

Micromosaics are firmed of tiny fragments of tesserae, usually made from glass or enamel. One of the earliest studios to open was the Vatican Mosaic Studio which opened in 1727, which aimed to create many of the cities paintings into mosaics for their preservation. Demand further increased during the 19th century when they became popular souvenirs of the Grand Tour. Subject matters ranged from Roman ruins, floral displays and animal portraits.
