Victoria Sin Canadian Artist
Launch Slideshow

F rom 23 November 2018 to 25 January 2019, S|2 London will present a solo exhibition of works by British artist Jon Thompson in gallery one, and a solo exhibition of works by Canadian artist Victoria Sin in gallery two.

Jon Thompson was an esteemed critic, teacher and curator who masterminded the transformation of Goldsmiths College in the 1980s into a petri dish for the fermentation of the YBA group. But he was also an artist in his own right. The exhibition at S|2 will highlight Thompson’s artistic practice in large-scale photography and abstract painting, and its complex relationship with his deep and prolonged study of aesthetics and art history.

Toronto-born artist Victoria Sin combines drag performance with the use of speculative fiction in the form of writing, print and moving images. The works in the S|2 exhibition explore drag performance as a method of owning pre-existing social and sexual storylines. Click the image above to view the slideshow.
