T he Art Contemporain Evening Auction brings together exceptional works by masters of the second half of the 20th century such as Georg Baselitz, Sam Francis and Pierre Soulages. Following on the success of the white glove series of auctions in New York, we are delighted to present eight masterpieces by post-war masters from The David M. Solinger Collection. We are also thrilled to be offering a group of 9 works donated directly by artists and sold to benefit Amnesty International. The highlights include works by Marlene Dumas, Richard Serra, Luc Tuymans, Michael Craig Martin and Ai Wei Wei.

Following on the success of the white glove series of auctions in New York this past November, we are delighted to present eight masterpieces by post-war masters from The David M. Solinger Collection as highlights in the Art Contemporain Evening Sale this December.

Few collections so powerfully capture a moment in time and place, and history, as The David M. Solinger Collection. Assembled with a deft eye, singular passion and pursuit, this collection represents the greatest achievements in art in both New York and Europe following the Second World War.

Reflecting the transatlantic dynamism between the greatest artists of the era, the collection not only traces art history but foretells it. The collection also tells the story of David Solinger himself, and his enduring legacy of philanthropy and support for notable institutions inspired by a lifelong passion for art. As a highly successful and pioneering lawyer, his dedication and foresight within the field would lead him to become an expert specializing in the developing worlds of television, advertising and art law, preceding many of his peers.

Sold to Benefit Amnesty International

For over 60 years, Amnesty International members around the world have worked tirelessly to promote and protect freedom of expression and human rights.

Today, thanks to the commitment and generosity of the artists Marlene Dumas, Richard Serra, Luc Tuymans, Ai Wei Wei, John Armleder, Michael Craig Martin, Genieve Figgis, Suzan Frecon and Thomas Struth, nine works will be sold for the benefit of Amnesty, during the contemporary art evening auction.

The sale will help support Amnesty in its fight for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. It will fund the indispensable work of the NGO against impunity for war crimes in Ukraine, Ethiopia, and human rights abuses in other countries such as Iran. It will also help to finance Amnesty's 'Evidence Lab', which uses cutting-edge digital investigation tools to document human rights violations.

Amnesty International is a global movement with over 10 million members fighting injustice. Through research and campaigning, Amnesty brings torturers to justice, changes oppressive laws and free people jailed for voicing their opinion.

Please Join us on 6 December for this human rights art auction and bid to make this artist-led initiative a huge success.
