Description

the raised border decorated with recurring foliate scrolls in blue, green and yellow enamel, applied at each corner and halfway points with a silver-gilt floral ornament, themselves with jewelled centres, the corner flowers also with a pearl in each petal, the robes of the figures repoussé and engraved to imitate embroidery, both figures with raised halos, each set with seven jewels and decorated with blue champlevé enamel, the edges of the halos with filigree ornamentation projecting outwards, both figures also wearing an applied silver-gilt necklace set with jewels and with further jewels suspending from the lower edge, in a fitted Kurlyukov velvet-lined case, struck to the lower edge and in the field with maker’s mark and initials in Cyrillic and the Imperial Warrant, 84 standard
