A week of exceptional sales and exhibitions to mark the inauguration of the new Parisian space.
Sotheby's new Parisian home will open on 12 October at the historic 83 Faubourg Saint-Honoré to coincide with the international Art Basel fair. Previously home to the renowned Bernheim-Jeune gallery, the building lies at the heart of the city’s gallery and luxury district. Join us to celebrate the opening of our new space and the centenary of Surrealism with our major auctions, "Surrealism & its Legacy" and "Modernités." Walk through the galleries to discover our inaugural exhibition, "Excellence à la française," showcasing masterpieces of French art through the centuries alongside a selection of works from the New York sales season in November.
Our iconic building at 76 Faubourg will remain open during this opening week, where you will find works from a collection dedicated to Joseph Beuys, a private sales exhibition from London to Paris promoting various artists who have lived and worked between these two capitals, as well as highlights from the Giordano collection.
“Our new building in Paris is the fruit of our past success in Paris and an emblem of our belief in, and our passion for, this extraordinary city. An historic landmark, it is elegant, alluring, and imaginatively adapted for the 21st century. But more than that, it is the art and objects within it that will make the building complete – an irresistible feature in the cultural landscape of Paris."
