Description

Goldfinger (1964), original candid photographic still, British

Unframed: 7 1/4 x 9 in. (18.4 x 22.8 cm)

Framed: 13 x 14 3/4 in. (33 x 37.5 cm)

Artist: Terry O'Neill (1938-2019)

Terry O'Neill took this photograph of Honor Blackman having fun on the set of Goldfinger. It is not believed to have been part of the official production stills which were released to news agencies. However, as it has a Rex Features stamp and reproduction measurements on the back (which can be seen through a perspex window on the back of the frame) it was in their portfolio to use. Rex Features Ltd. were a news agency responsible for distributing publicity photographs in the 1960s.

This is a very rare candid photograph.

This was the third time that Sean Connery would play James Bond 007. The film was produced by Eon Productions, and was the first of four Bond films that Guy Hamilton would direct. This is a hugely popular film in the Bond series, with the unforgettable lines 'Do you expect me to talk?', 'No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die'.
