Freddie Mercury’s Knebworth worn shirt, 1986


A brightly coloured long-sleeved cotton shirt printed with a design of crowns, horses and saddlery in red, green, yellow and turquoise, left breast pocket, fastening with imitation brown horn buttons, labelled ‘Verte Valle’


Freddie can be seen wearing this shirt when Queen arrived by helicopter at Knebworth on 9 August, 1986 for his final live appearance with Queen; also worn at Garden Lodge celebrating Christmas with friends including Mary Austin, Jim Hutton and Peter Freestone, 1986 – see lot 59.
