First American edition of the seminal work on radical political theory said to have influenced the founding fathers. Burgh's Political Disquisitions, his best-known work, details his thoughts on liberty, freedom of speech and human rights. The list of subscribers of this American edition includes George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, John Dickinson and other notable Signers and revolutionaries.
