8vo (200 x 122 mm). Crease and largely closed tear to title, lacking folded leaf at end, some light browning. Contemporary marbled wrappers; some rubbing primarily to extremities. In a half morocco slipcase and folding chemise. 


First edition, attributed to Robert Morris


The North American Land Company was organized to develop and sell 6,000,000 acres in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky. The Company's stock was never popular, and its failure threw Robert Morris, among many others, into bankruptcy.
