Félix Vallotton’s majestic sunset Soleil couchant dans la Brume achieved an impressive CHF 1,805,000. All five early works by Ferdinand Hodler sold, Ein schöner Abend am Genfersee for CHF 545,000 and a second landscape, Strasse von St. Georges, for CHF 509,000. Two Giovanni Segantini works on paper from the collection of the late Jan Krugier soared above their high estimates. Furthermore, the constructivist and concrete lots from the collection of Georges Baines, amongst others works by Richard Paul Lohse and Max Bill, proved very popular. The sale brought a combined total of CHF 6,217,525, emphasizing the resilience of the Swiss Art market and the continuous demand for exceptional works.
