S otheby’s are delighted to host an exhibition for The Art of Wishes from Saturday 2–Friday 8 October 2021.
The Art of Wishes is a charitable initiative that brings the international art community together to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK. Following the keen eye of Founder and Chair, Batia Ofer, this special art auction is not facilitated by blind donations but instead curated with a finger on the pulse of the modern art world. The artworks selected reflect the social issues of our times and the changing landscape of the artworld.
The Art of Wishes Gala 2021 will be hosting a live and silent art auction available for viewing on Artsy from the 27 September 2021.
The above lots will be auctioned live at a special Gala at the Natural History Museum on 11 October 2021. To register interest in any of these live lots and in order to bid outside of the room, please register interest via Artsy as of 27 September 2021.
The silent art auction will be live on Artsy as of 27 September.
Driven by the vision of its Founder, Batia Ofer, The Art of Wishes engages a wide network of artists, galleries and institutions to host events, commission new works and raise awareness, with the sole aim of granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We believe there is a natural synergy between the creativity shown by artists and the creativity demonstrated by children when dreaming up their wishes, both delivering moments of wonder, intrigue and excitement.

Make-A-Wish UK is part of a global movement that was established in the UK in 1986 to restore the childhood that critical illness often takes away.
63,000 children in the UK* have been diagnosed with a critical condition changing their lives and the lives of their families forever. The joy of childhood is brought to an abrupt end, with treatment plans, hospital visits and sleepless nights taking over.
The power of a wish revives a childhood stolen by critical illness. It brings light and joy to children and their loved ones and leaves a profound and lasting impact on all their lives.
Currently Make-A-Wish UK can’t be that light for everyone. However all those who come together to support the Art of Wishes have a direct and powerful impact on helping us step that much closer to achieving our vision of granting a wish for every eligible child.
Together, we have the power to light up the darkness.
