Sotheby’s Milan auction Arte Moderna e Contemporanea on 29-30 November offers a strong selection of high quality works from the most desirable post war artists. In its 50th anniversary we are glad to present a very precious nucleus of Arte Povera’s works, from Pistoletto to Paolini among the others and a various selection of important works by Alighiero Boetti. Among the highlights a magnificent work by Salvatore Scarpitta “Gravity” from 1963, a superb and extremely rare Combustione Plastica CP 8” by Alberto Burri executed in 1964 and for the first time on the market and a powerful and dramatic work by Lucio Fontana “Concetto spaziale Attese”, three resolute incisions cut into a deep peculiar ocher canvas. The sale will also feature outstanding works by Manzoni, Castellani and Scheggi, one the most important works by Agnetti to ever appear on the market and two magnificent works by Josef Albers to complete this outstanding international sale.
