This fine collection focusing mainly on Himalayan and Indian art includes three particularly fine and important early thangkas from the Ngor monastery, founded in 1429 by the Sakya master Kunga Zangpo (1382-1456) and considered the production center of the finest tibetan thangkas.
This fascinating collection with a special focus on Tibetan and Indian medicine gather some extremely rare example of buddhist figures as well as rare Indian paintings and Jain diagrams.
The present collection was formed in Germany during the 1980s and 1990s. Several highlights of the collection were already dispersed at auction in New York in 2001. This is the remaining of the collection.
