約十七世紀 藏傳鐵鋄金鉗

The ritual pincers in the form of bird’s head with opening beak, one handle with a vajra finial and the other curved with a flaming jewel motif. A Tibetan inscription, tshe ring mchu, on the curved handle may be translated literally as ‘long life beak’, referring to the bird head, which may represent a crane or other water bird with a long bill: compare ritual pincers with the head and chelae of a scorpion in Nathalie Bazin, Rituels Tibétains, Paris, 2002, fig. 134.
