犍陀羅 約二 / 四世紀 灰片岩雕佛坐像

The Buddha is dressed in a voluminous robe worn off the right shoulder, with a fragmentary halo, hands in the gesture of enlightenment, bodhyagri mudra, and seated with legs crossed in vajraparyankasana on a cushioned pedestal draped with a throne cloth, a diminutive seated Buddha in meditation beneath flanked by devotees. Compare the bodhyagri hand gesture of preaching Buddhas in the British Museum, in W. Zwalf, A Catalogue of the Gandhara Sculpture in the British Museum, London, 1996, Vol. II, figs. 111, 112.
