Creating a Stage: The Collection of Marsha and Robin Williams

The collection of beloved entertainer Robin Williams and his wife of over 20 years, film producer and philanthropist Marsha Garces Williams, will be part of a dedicated auction in New York on 4 October 2018 to support the charities they championed.

Creating a Stage: The Collection of Marsha and Robin Williams will offer works spanning Marsha’s and Robin’s diverse interests and careers, all reflecting their shared passion for collecting. The autumn auction will showcase: film and entertainment memorabilia, including autographed scripts, awards, props and wardrobe associated with projects across Marsha’s and Robin’s careers; Contemporary art, including sculpture by Niki de Saint-Phalle and street art by Banksy, Shepard Fairey and Invader; more than 40 watches from Robin’s personal collection; a selection of bicycles and sports memorabilia; furniture and decorative art from their residences; and more.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit a number of organizations championed by both Marsha and Robin, including The Juilliard School, Wounded Warrior Project, the Challenged Athletes Foundation, and the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

The sale will be preceded by a public exhibition in Sotheby’s York Avenue galleries, opening 29 September.
