Kathleen Hart is a Vice President in the Contemporary Art Private Sales division at Sotheby's. From 2022 to 2026, she led the Contemporary Day Auction Afternoon Session, overseeing a period that produced both the highest sale totals in the history of the category and record-breaking results.
Ms. Hart has contributed to bringing notable collections to market, including A Life in Art: The Mallin Collection and The Chara Schreyer Collection. Her expertise spans both private sales and auction strategy, with a particular focus on presenting exceptional works and collections to collectors around the world.
Ms. Hart has developed several single-artist immersive presentations at Sotheby’s. These projects include Art in Transit: 31 Keith Haring Subway Drawings from the Collection of Larry Warsh (2024) and Haring’s House: Works from the Collection of Kermit Oswald (2026).
In addition to her sales and exhibition work, Ms. Hart is a member of the curatorial team behind Sotheby’s Marcel, 250 Years of American Art & Culture, Open House, and other special projects, contributing to the firm’s broader cultural initiatives.
Ms. Hart graduated with distinction from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Political Science.
