S ourced from private collections, STYLE London: Furniture, Clocks, Silver, Ceramics & Works of Art brings together an eclectic mix of fine and decorative art which will be sure to enrich any interior. Highlights include two 16th century English portraits which are complemented by a selection of early English textiles, oak and walnut furniture. Glass spans from a collection of medicine bottles mudlarked from the banks of the Thames to an iridescent artwork by Dale Chihuly; while 18th century ceramics from acclaimed centres of manufacture including the Chelsea and Meissen factories are all represented. A group of early German silver, mostly Augsburg and Nuremberg, can be found alongside a collection of Japanese and Chinese pieces, as well as more humorous novelty items. The sale also boasts a fine selection of 18th and 19th century English and European furniture, with many pieces hailing from the noble houses of Britain or feted collections of the 20th century.
