Gelatin silver print (239 x 188 mm), mounted on card, initialed in pencil ("A.A.") on mount, the "Special Edition Photographs of Yosemite" stamp to verso, printed later by Alan Ross; small stain to mount. In a "The Ansel Adams Gallery" sleeve; adhesive tape marks.
Ansel Adams first visited Yosemite when he was a teenager, thus igniting a love for the American West and its national parks that permeated his photographic output for his entire career. Adams is now regarded as the preeminent landscape photographer of the 20th century.
