“If we are what we eat, then we’re all part-Asian,” says Danielle Chang, founder of the food festival LUCKYRICE and host of the PBS series Lucky Chow. The Taipei-born, New York-based entrepreneur’s career has transcended art, media, publishing and business, but it is food that Chang argues is culture’s great connector. Applying her diverse passions to Sotheby’s 2019 Asia Week in New York, Chang selected her favorite works across sales – and played literal tastemaker by curating bites, adapted from her cookbook, inspired by them. Ahead, learn more about Chang’s heritage through her insights into these delectable food and art pairings. –Stephanie Sporn
