This coming Spring season, the key sales for Classic Design will take place in London and Geneva.
In London, we are pleased to present a curated selection of exquisite furniture and decorative arts from esteemed noble and private collections. The auction will commence with pieces from the Collection of the Earl of Home, including 'The Montagu Heirlooms,' which features a remarkable array of gold boxes, jewels, and silver passed down through generations. Contents from the collections of the Earls of Clarendon, from a descendant of the Earls Cowper as well as from a distinguished Belgravia residence, and other notable aristocratic and private collections, will showcase a varied selection of Georgian, French, and other continental furniture as well as ceramics and clocks.
In Geneva, there will be a significant collection of Fabergé and objects of vertu from Castle Howard, one of the most magnificent groups of Fabergé animals in private hands. This sale also includes important gold boxes from a private European collection, assembled over several decades and encompassing extraordinary 18th century snuff boxes made in Paris, London, Geneva and Vienna. Gold boxes from the late 18th and early 19th centuries are further represented in the second part of the sale – around 100 gold boxes from the Alan and Simone Hartman collection will be offered as a continuation of the enormous success of the first A Park Avenue Treasury sale in New York in June 2024.
