Classical Beauty
The auction is led by French painter Guillaume Seignac’s Love's Offering. Seignac’s graceful model reflects the Academic ideals espoused by William Bouguereau, his teacher at the Académie Julian. Seignac’s embrace of classical subject matter and his technical mastery found critical success at the Paris Salons and earned him the admiration of 19th century collectors both in Europe and America.

Pleasures of Home
Artworks by Alberto Pasini, Henrik August Ankarcrona and James Webb, among others, capture the vibrant landscapes and culture of North Africa and the Middle East, subjects that arrested the imagination of many 19th century collectors.
An Orientalist Vision
