A Rare Polish Miniature Parcel-Gilt Silver Book Binding, Early 18th Century

the front pierced and engraved with fine scrolled foliage inhabited by a squirrel, monkey, birds, unicorn and stag, centered by a crowned roundel with the Hebrew psalm words “I praise G-d before me at all times”, flanked by lion supporters, the back pierced and engraved with foliate strapwork with winged putto heads at the angles, centered by a double-headed eagle displayed flanked by griffons, with borders of gilt running leaves, the spine applied with three bars to the leather, the clasps tooled with a geometric border, fitted with a contemporary Ashkenazi rites prayer book, Amsterdam, 1724
