Folios: Lithographed titles to each volume, unfoxed, with 150 hand-colored lithographed plates by J.J. Audubon and J.W. Audubon, backgrounds after Audubon and lithography by J.T. Bowen; Volumes I and III with intermittent primarily marginal spotting with most of the major plates unaffected, Volume II generally clean with only two of the lesser images with moderate foxing. All uniformly bound to style in half purple morocco and period purple cloth-covered boards, spine with raised bands, lettered in the second and third, others decorated in gilt, marbled edges and endpapers. Housed within grey cloth clamshell cases.
