3 works in one volume, 4to (209 x 152mm.), text in Greek, start of volume ruled in red, heavily annotated by a contemporary hand, contemporary calf tooled in gilt and blind, two pairs of (later) leather ties, occasional light staining, rebacked retaining most of original spine

Rutger Rescius (c. 1497-1545) was a professor of Greek at the Collegium Trilingue in Louvain as well as a printer, and Johann Sturm (1507-1589) was also a teacher; they took over the press of Thierry Martens (see lot 145). The Xenophon was the first book to be printed by them, and is dedicated to Gilles Busleiden. These texts were printed for the use of their students, which is evidenced by the annotations in this copy.
