FIRST EDITION, folio (505 x 327mm.), dedication, 72 fine etched plates after Madame Knip (Pauline de Courcelles) by Gremilliet, printed in colours by Rousset and finished by hand, contemporary half calf, occasional light foxing, binding a bit rubbed
A splendidly produced work illustrating the American genus of tangaras and related genera. It was published in twelve livraisons, the first appearing in 1805, the next six in 1806, and the last two in 1807.
