Four Preliminary Pencil Production Drawings For The Beatles Abc TV Cartoon Series, 1960s

each pencil drawing a portrait of an individual Beatle running forward with arms outstretched, each with added pencil colour and some annotations at foot of sheet; [with] a scan of a letter of provenance from animator Dennis Hunt, (267 x 330mm.), some minor discolouration around edges of each sheet

These four original sketches are preliminary production drawings for the American ABC TV cartoon series, The Beatles which ran from 1965 to 1969. The series was the first weekly show to feature animated versions of real people. Dennis Hunt who drew these sketches in addition to working on this cartoon series, also worked on the Beatles Yellow Submarine animated film. The animation artist would draw these sketches under the guidance of the project's director and animation cels would subsequently be created from these drawings.
