The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This work may have been recently cleaned, but the lining is less recent. The lining is applied with wax as an adhesive, which is acidic and will lead to damage over time. The canvas is stretched onto a non-original mechanical stretcher. The paint layer is in particularly good condition. No retouches are visible either under ultraviolet light or to the naked eye.
