From Generation to Generation: Important Photographs from the Ames Collection

In November 2016, Sotheby’s was honored to offer The Triumph of Painting: The Steven & Ann Ames Collection, a collection that was formed through decades of study and appreciation for significant paintings by artists such as Willem de Kooning, Gerhard Richter, Philip Guston, and Georg Baselitz, to name a few. It is again Sotheby’s great honor to pay tribute to the preeminent Ames Collection by offering photographs from this important collection, including works by Thomas Struth, Cindy Sherman, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Andreas Gurksy, Vik Muniz, Shirin Neshat, Candida Höfer and more in several auctions during the fall and winter 2017.
